Supported Opening, Receiving, and Gentle Unwinding | Yoga for Burnout Series | Practice 2

Practice Two

Supported Opening, Receiving, and Gentle Unwinding (45 minutes)

This practice works more subtly with stored tension patterns, especially around the hips, belly, and inner thighs, areas often linked to protection and holding.

With supported Butterfly, Bananasana, and constructive rest, we create space without force. These shapes are less about stretching and more about allowing. You might feel sensation, emotion, or very little at all. All of it is welcome and valid, and held without judgment.

This is where we begin to rebuild capacity, not by pushing, but by increasing your ability to stay present with sensation in a safe way.

Nervous system focus

Pendulation between mild sensation and ease. Supporting the body to experience opening without triggering the feeling of overwhelm.

Self-inquiry prompts

  • Can I stay with sensation without needing to change it?

  • Where do I brace in anticipation?

  • What does “just enough” sensation feel like for me today?

  • Am I waiting for the pose to end, or can I arrive inside it?

  • What happens if I let the breath be natural, not controlled?
