Yin Yoga for the Nervous System | Full Class | Gem Maryan

A 50-minute Yin Yoga class designed around nervous system awareness. We move slowly through held poses that target the connective tissue and invite the body toward a settled, parasympathetic state without performing calm or bypassing what's actually present.

This class is suitable for anyone who would like a gentler form of practice. There is no music in this video, and I am hoping you cannot hear my tummy rumbling in a few places, that will be my own nervous system coming into relaxation ;-).

No prior knowledge of nervous system science is needed to practise, though if you want to go deeper into the theory, details are below.

On 16 June 2026 I'm offering a free 90-minute lecture: The Autonomic Nervous System and Yoga. We look at how regulation actually works, why calm is not the goal, and what this means for how we teach and practise.

The 50 Hour Nervous System and Yoga Foundations self-paced course opens the same evening.
